FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball looks to continue its hot start to the season at the Windy City Invitational hosted by Chicago State University.

The Titans will play three matches starting with the host Cougars on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. PT. The second match of the weekend will be on Friday at 9:30 a.m. PT against Western Carolina. Fullerton's weekend slate ends with Alabama State on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. PT.

CSF had a great opening weekend leaving the Idaho Volleyball Classic with a 2-1 record after sweeping Eastern Washington in the opener and taking down the host Vandals in four sets to close out the weekend. Their lone loss was a five set battle against Illinois-Chicago where the Titans came up just short.

Julia Crawford was named Big West Freshman of the Week after leading the team with 48 kills and 43 digs with a pair of double-doubles. She was also named to the Idaho Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team. Savahna Costello also took some Big West recognition being named Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 66 digs (5.50 digs/set) to go along with 14 assists. Elizabeth Schuster had a phenomenal weekend posting a double-double in each of the team's three contests and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. The freshman setter averaged 8.83 assists per set and 2.92 digs per set with her best match coming against Idaho where recorded 44 assists and 13 digs.

Looking forward to this weekend, Cal State Fullerton and Chicago State have faced each other just once in program history and the Titans fell in five sets back in 2017. The Cougars are currently 0-3 after a winless opening weekend at the Colorado State Invitational. In their season opener, they were swept by Colorado State, then fell to Oklahoma in five sets, and closed out the weekend with a four set loss to Cal.

This will be the first time that Fullerton and Western Carolina will play each other in program history. The Mountacats are currently 1-2 on the season with losses to Fordham and Lamar at the Georgia State Invitational. The lone win from their opening weekend was a four set win over GSU in the opener.

The Titans will face Alabama State will face each other for the second time ever this weekend. CSF swept the Hornets in their only previous matchup back in 2006. The Hornets are currently a perfect 3-0 on the season only dropping two sets at the MEAC/SWAC Challenge.
