IRVINE, Calif. - After a 2-1 start to the Cal State Fullerton season, a pair of Titans received Big West weekly awards as Julia Crawford was named the Freshman of the Week and Savahna Costello was named Defensive Player of the Week.
JULIA CRAWFORD, CAL STATE FULLERTON – FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• Opening her collegiate career at the Idaho Volleyball Classic, Julia Crawford helped Cal State Fullerton to a 2-1 record as the Big West Women's Volleyball Freshman of the Week.
• The 5-foot-9 outside hitter averaged 4.00 kills on .188 hitting as the Titans posted wins over Eastern Washington (3-0) and Idaho (3-1) sandwiched around a tough five-set loss to Illinois-Chicago.
• Crawford compiled 48 kills and 43 digs (3.58 dps) over the three contests.
• She had double-digit kills in all three matches, including 20 against UIC to go along with 15 digs for her first career double-double.
• Crawford turned in a second consecutive double-double with 17 kills and 19 digs against the host Vandals. She added a pair of aces and a solo block.

• Junior Savahna Costello of Cal State Fullerton garnered Big West Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolades after averaging 5.50 digs per set over three matches.
• The 5-foot-6 libero is the first Titan to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors since Paige Reed on Nov. 17, 2014.
• Costello posted 18 digs or more in every match at the Idaho Volleyball Classic. She notched 29 digs in a five-set loss to UIC and had 19 more in a sweep of Eastern Washington.
• Costello tallied 18 digs in a four-set triumph over host Idaho. She also racked up 14 assists for the tournament.
