PRIOR TO CAL STATE FULLERTON
Spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at Diablo Valley College in the Bay Area ... Took 19th place in the shot put (41-3.75) and 17th place in the discus (121-10) at the 2016 NorCal Championships ... In 2017, earned a runner-up finish in the shot put (personal-best toss of 54-6.75) and a seventh-place finish in the discus (148-1) at the CCCAA California State Championships ... Gilbert's personal-best toss of 167-5 in the discus came at the 2017 NorCal Trials & Finals.

ESPERANZA HIGH SCHOOL
A 2015 graduate of Pittsburg High School, Gilbert had personal-best marks of 46-0 in the shot put and 156-0 in the discus ... He took 12th place in the shot put at the NCS Tri-Valley Championships at 46-0 ... Qualified for the California State Championships Prelims in the discus and had a toss of 151-7 to take 20th place.
