FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball team begins the 2019 season with three games on the road as part of the Idaho Volleyball Classic hosted by the University of Idaho.

The weekend slate begins with a pair of games on Friday starting with Eastern Washington at 12:30 p.m. PT. followed by Illinois-Chicago at 4:30 p.m. PT. They close out the tournament against the host Vandals on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PT.

The Titans are coming off a 3-1 win in their exhibition match against future Big West foe, UC San Diego, this past Saturday.
This year's team has gone through some changes from last season welcoming in six new student-athletes, five of which are freshman and the sixth is a grad student transfer. Head coach Ashley Preston also has a new coaching staff with her for the 2019 season looking to improve on last season.

Fullerton has faced Eastern Washington seven times in the program's history and are 4-3 in those games. EWU swept Fullerton in the last meeting between the two in 2016. The Eagles went 8-22 last year including 0-18 in conference play.

The Titans and Flames will be facing each other for the first time in program history on Friday. UIC went 18-13 last year, including 10-6 in conference. They made it to the second round of the Horizon League tournament before their season came to an end.

Fullerton has faced Idaho six times previously and are 2-4 all-time against the Vandals. Idaho has won the last two matchups against the Titans with the last match coming last season in Titan Gym. The Vandals went 23-10 last year and only lost three matches in conference play, but lost to NAU in the Big Sky Tournament.
