Titans Fall 4-2 to San Diego State

Fullerton, Calif. – The Titans get their second loss of the season this Saturday against San Diego State.

The Titans are now 2-2 this season after coming short 4-2 against the San Diego State Aztecs who are now 4-1.
Jadie Acidera stays undefeated this season with her fourth win in a row at No.6.

DOUBLES
On court No.3, Eira Tobrand and Luxizi Meng got the first win of the day for the Titans finishing their doubles match 6-2.
Masako Makiba and Caisey Lee Emery were teaming up on No.2. Off to a good start, they let the Aztecs come back and take the 6-4 win.
It all came down to Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno on No.1. The SDSU duo of Khatamova and Moinard gave the Aztecs the doubles point to put them up 1-0.

SINGLES
Abbie Mulbarger at No.5 with a 6-4,6-0 win over Tobrand was able to give the Aztecs a 2-0 lead in this dual.
Karla Portalatin had a strong performance at No.2 and reduced the Aztecs' lead by one point. She dominated Nnena Nadozie 6-3,6-3.
Jadie Acidera at No.6 put the Titans back in the match with her 6-3,6-4 win.
Caisey Lee Emery playing at No.3 and dropped the game in hard fought game. After losing the first set 3-6 and winning the second one easily 6 to 1, Emery came short 3-6 in the third one.
Luxizi Meng also had a good battle at No.4. Meng could win the first set twice in the tiebreaker but could not finish. She lost the first 6-7 but was able to bounce back in the second 6-4. Unfortunately, it is Alicia Melosch who will take the third set 6 to 2 and give the Aztecs the last point needed to take the win.
Sarah Nuno was also in the third set as she dropped the first one and came back in the second. She was winning 3-0 in the third set when the Aztecs took the dual win.

UP NEXT
The Titans will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 13th at home against Azusa Pacific at 1:30pm P.T.
