Titans Head to Texas for Delta Gamma Challenge

THIS WEEK: The Cal State Fullerton women's golf team is back out on the links this weekend as they travel to the Delta Gamma Challenge hosted by Texas State beginning Sunday.

THE COURSE: The Delta Gamma Challenge will be held at the 6,001-yard par-71 Landa Park Golf Club in New Braunfels, Texas. The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday and conclude the competition Monday with 18 holes of golf. Each day will have a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. PT.

THE FIELD: Along with the Titans and hosts Texas State, 12 other teams will be competing this weekend at the Delta Gamma Challenge including Houston, Idaho, New Mexico State, Lamar, UALR, Sam Houston State, Houston Baptist, Missouri State, Ball State, UTEP, Stephen F. Austin and Youngstown State.

IN THE POLLS: Six teams competing at the Delta Gamma Challenge are ranked in the top-100 of the NCAA Head-to-Head rankings issued by GolfStat.com including Houston (No. 51), Idaho (No. 76), New Mexico State (No. 78), Lamar (No. 94), UALR (No. 96) and host Texas State (No. 97). The Titans are currently ranked No. 101 after starting the spring portion of the season at No. 88 prior to The Gold Rush.

INTO THE TOP 10: Freshman Brittany Farrell recorded her first career top-10 finish in her Titans career at The Gold Rush. She also paced the Titans as the low scorer with a 9-over 225 over 54 holes and tied her career-best round with an even-par 72 in the second round of the tournament.

RIVERA MOVES UP: Junior Nadine Rivera finished in a tie for 42nd place at The Gold Rush, the best placing she's ever had as a member of the Titans. Rivera accomplished the feat on the strength of her stellar second round where she shot a 1-over 73, also a new career best.

FLASHBACK TO THE 70s: Sophomore Martina Edberg struggled at The Gold Rush, recording three rounds in the 80s. It was the first time Edberg has failed to record a score a round in the 70s in her Titans career, totaling 14 tournaments.
