NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Cal State Fullerton women's golf team finished ninth at the Delta Gamma Challenge hosted by Texas State at Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels, Texas after the final round was cancelled Monday due to increased wind chill and balls moving on the green due to winds.

The Titans finished with a collective score of 596 to end the day at 23-over par over 36 holes. Idaho and UALR were each at 7-over par but Idaho was awarded the championship due to the tiebreaking score of the team's fifth place player in the final round on Sunday.

Senior Tisha Alyn Abrea finished with a 2-over 144. She shot an even-par 71 in the first round and followed that up with a 73 in the second. She was tied for 13th place in the individual standings, four strokes behind co-medalists Lora Assad (Texas State), Sabrina Bonanno (UALR) and Aislynn Merling (Youngstown State) who each finished with a 2-under 140. Abrea also notched her 24th top-20 finish, the most in Fullerton history.

Sophomore Martina Edberg was right behind Abrea after the reigning Big West Conference individual champion posted a 3-over 145 on the first day. She stumbled a bit in the first round, recording a 4-over 75 but recovered in time for the second round where she carded a 1-under 70. It was Edberg's 11th career top-20 finish.

After a solid showing at The Gold Rush a week ago, Nadine Rivera continued her great play on Sunday as she came into the clubhouse with a 4-over 146. In the first round, Rivera finished with a 5-over 76 but then set a new career best when she matched Edberg's second round score of 70.

Dakota Brown and Brittany Farrell rounded out the Titans scoring as each player recorded a 16-over 158. Brown posted an 80 in the first round followed by a 78 in the second while Farrell scored an 82 in round one before ending the day with a 5-over 76 in the second round.

The Titans will return to action on Feb. 23 when they head to the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational hosted by San Jose State at Almaden Golf and Country Club in San Jose, Calif. Edberg is the reigning medalist at the event after she scored her first career victory there as a freshman, posting a 3-under 213.
