SEASON STATS | BIG WEST RELEASE

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team hits the road to play at UC Riverside on Friday and Saturday. Both games in the SRC Arena tip at 4 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on BigWest.TV.

MATCHUP HISTORY
The Titans are 27-31 all-time against the Highlanders but own a two-game winning streak against them. Last time these programs squared off, the Titans picked up a 68-45 win at the SRC Arena on Feb. 27, 2020.

LAST TIME OUT
Fullerton (1-11, 0-8 BWC) was swept against CSU Bakersfield. The first game of the series on Jan. 29 was a 67-54 win for the Roadrunners while the Jan. 30 game ended up 57-56.

BOOK IT
Junior Amiee Book is averaging 14.9 points per game on the year, tops on the team and the only Titan averaging 10+ points per game. She has scored 10+ points in 11 of the last 12 games dating back to last season. Book also grabs 4.9 rebounds per game, the No. 3 mark on the squad. She is shooting 43.2% (19-44) from distance this season. She missed the last games due to injury.

I'M A PERSON, AND MY NAME IS ANNIKEN
Sophomore Anniken Frey is second on the squad in scoring with 8.9 points per game. She also dishes out 3.5 assists per game and is shooting 51.4% (19-37) from beyond the arc.

JOY TO THE WORLD
Senior Joy Krupa, who played just nine games last season before suffering a season-ending injury, is averaging 6.5 points and 7.7 rebounds (team leader, fifth in Big West) and 3.45 assists on the year in 30.2 minutes per game. She's also pitching in 1.2 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

SCOUTING REPORT
UC Riverside (5-7, 2-4 BWC) is heading into the game on a two-game losing streak after being swept at Cal Poly last weekend. Keilanei Cooper leads the team in scoring at 15.7 per game. Jordan Webster is second at 10.6 points per game.

BLOCK PARTY
The Titans lead the Big West in blocks on the year with 40 total. Krupa leads the team with 12 on the year while Book has eight.

2019-20 SEASON RECAP
The team returns seven of the top nine scorers from the 2019-20 squad that went 17-14 overall and posted the first winning season since 1991. Senior Carolyn Gill, who was named the 2019 Big West Hustle Player of the Year and was a member of the Big West All-Defensive Team. She posted numbers of 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Junior Amiee Book is back after tallying 12.7 points per game last season, the third-best mark on the squad. Opportunities are there for the taking this year as 2020 Big West Player of the Year Raina Perez transferred to North Carolina State and senior guard Taylor Turney opted out of playing the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19.

2020-21 ROSTER BREAKDOWN
Junior Amiee Book scored in double figures 16 times last season and was third on the team with 12.7 points per game. She led the team with 46 three-point field goals made while also pitching 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Senior Carolyn Gill tallied 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game last season and will look take more of an aggressive role in the offense this season. Senior Joy Krupa is back after playing the first nine games of last season before suffering a season-ending injury. Krupa was off to a great start, averaging 10.7 rebounds to go with 4.4 points and 3.1 assists per game. Sophomores Anniken Frey and Megan Nieto played in all 31 games last year at roughly 10 minutes per game but will likely see increased opportunities this season.

NEWCOMERS
Head coach Jeff Harada and his staff brought in three freshman to join the squad as well as one junior college transfer. Center Ashlee Lewis from Cerritos and Australian guards Gabi Vidmar and Bella Stratford make up the freshmen class. Junior guard Pressila Blanco made the move to Fullerton from Cypress College. With guard spots available for the taking, look for Vidmar and Stratford to battle with the returners for those minutes.
