UCR Completes Sweep of WBB

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball lost 64-49 at UC Riverside on Saturday evening. Three Highlanders scored 10+, led by Georgia Ohiaeri with a game-high 14. Senior Carolyn Gill was the top scorer for Fullerton with 10 points.

The Highlanders (7-7, 4-4 Big West) did not trail on Saturday as they forced 23 Titans turnovers and converted them into 26 points. UCR also won the rebounding battle 30-29. The Highlanders shot 49.1% (26-53) from the field, 25% (2-8) from three and 76.9% (10-13) at the line.

Fullerton went 21-49 (42.9%) from the floor, 3-10 (30%) beyond the arc and 4-9 (44.4%). 

Gill shot 5-8 from the field and also contributed five rebounds with her 10 points. Senior forward Joy Krupa tallied six points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Sophomore guard Anniken Frey scored nine points with seven assists and just two turnovers in 32 minutes of action. Sophomore forward Janette Mensah pitched in eight points, three rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes. She had the best plus-minus on the squad for the game.

Next up, the Titans return to Titan Gym to host Cal Poly on Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m. PT.
