FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team will make its third appearance and second in a row, on Monday at the 2016 Sacramento State Invitational.
THE COURSE: The two-day event will be contested at Valley Hi Country Club, playing at 7,009 yards at par 72 for the 54-hole event.
THE FIELD: Competing alongside the Titans and Sacramento State will be: British Columbia, Campbell, CSU Bakersfield, CSUN, Drake, Grand Canyon, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, Redlands and Weber State.

LAST TIME OUT ON THE LINKS: The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team saved its best for last with a third round score of 283, but the improvement only moved the Titans up one spot to eighth in the standings on the final day of competition at the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate held at Virginia Country Club on Tuesday, March 1.
The Titans finished the tournament in eighth place with a final score of 25-over-par 865, but their third round score was boosted by the play of freshmen Jack Ireland and Matt Wilson.
Wilson shot 3-under-par 67 for his third and final round, finishing the tournament with a three-round score of 207 (-3), tying for second in the standings. For the rookie, it was his best round of golf, best three-round score and best finish. In fact, Wilson's second-place finish was the best for a Titan this year and the best since Mark Anguiano finished in a tie for second place at the 2014 Big West Championship.
Ireland moved from 35th on the leaderboard to tying for 17th after a third-round score of 5-under-par 65 to finish the tournament at 3-over-par 213. For Ireland, his third-round score was his best round of golf as a Titan, and is the lowest score for any CSF player this year. In fact, Ireland's round of 65 is only the sixth in Titan history and the first since Anguiano did so in the first round at the El Macero Classic on April 18, 2014.

• Freshmen Jack Ireland and Matt Wilson have combined to lead the Titans in four of seven tournaments this year in team play. Ireland led Fullerton at the Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational and tied Matt Wilson for the best Fullerton score at the Folino Invitational. Wilson has also led the team at the Arizona Intercollegiate and the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate.
• Matt Wilson completed the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate with a three-round score of 207 (-3), tying for second in the standings. For the rookie, it was his best three-round score and best finish in his Titan career. •Matt Murphy recorded the best finish of his career shooting at 2-over-par 218, good for third place at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16. Murphy's third-place finish, competing as an individual, was the best for a CSF player at the Folino Invitational since Mark Anguiano won the event in 2014.
• Junior Martin Manalo carded the best finish of his Titan career, tying for 12th overall with a final score of 222 (+6) at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16.
• Fullerton's final score of 843 from the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29 ranks third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's 54-hole team score.
• Fullerton's third-place finish at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., was the best for the program since winning the Big West Championship on April 29, 2014.
• Redshirt senior Mark Jensma was the top Titan finisher, as his total score of 209 (-4) tied for ninth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. For Jensma, the ninth place finish was the best in his Titan career and the second time he has finished in the top-10. In addition, his second round score of 68 and his total score 209 set career bests.

SEASON SCHEDULE
Cal State Fullerton's 2015-16 campaign features 10 tournaments before the Big West Championship and NCAA Regionals. The Folino Invitational Presented by Microsemi Corporation will again highlight the Titans' season as the sixth-annual tournament has become one of the premier collegiate golf destinations and will be hosted at Industry Hills Golf Club in City of Industry, Calif., on Feb. 15-16. Fullerton will also hit the links outside the state of California, visiting Washington and Arizona twice.
