Titans Produce Solid First Day at Sacramento State Invitational
ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team battled the elements on Monday during rounds one and two of the Sacramento State Invitational at Valley Hi Country Club, and is poised for an exciting round three while currently third in the standings.

Campbell (577, +1) and Sacramento State (579, +3) have generous leads over the rest of the field as Fullerton was the next closest competitor shooting a combined two-round score of 21-over-par 597, followed by Weber State (598, +22), British Columbia (598, +22), CSUN (605, +29), Grand Canyon (606, +30), Nebraska-Omaha (612, +36) and CSU Bakersfield (625, +49). Redlands, Drake and North Dakota were unable to finish the second round due to darkness and will resume play at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, while the third round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on a shotgun start.

Fullerton shot a score of 298 in the first round, and moved from fourth to third in the standings following its 299 score in the second round.

Freshman Matt Wilson shot a one-under par 71 in the first round and two-over-par 74 in the second round and is currently tied for fifth on the leaderboard with a two-round score of 145 (+1).

Sophomore Mark Cobey's two-round score of one-over-par 145 also has him tied for fifth in the standings following a first-round score of 3-over-par 75 while shooting 2-under par 70 in the second round.

CSUN's Felix Mory (140, -4) is at the top of the standings.

Junior Matt Murphy's two-round score of 153 (+9) has him tied for 32nd on the leaderboard followed by freshman Jack Ireland (155, +11) in 41st and Mark Jensma (159, +15) in 52nd.
