Titans Steady in Seventh after Second Round at El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished its second day of competition at the El Macero Classic in seventh place at El Macero Country Club on Saturday.

The Titans recorded a day two total of 595 (+19) after a second round 10-over 298, and trail host UC Davis (-8, 568) Marquette (+1, 577), Sacramento State (+1, 577), Nevada (+3, 579) and Utah Valley (+6, 582) after 36-holes.

Cal State Fullerton senior Ryan Tetrault carded a team-best 71 (-1) to finish the day in 11th position with a current total score of 145 (+1).

UC Davis' Luke Vivolo (-11, 133) continued to pace the field after shooting a 6-under 66 to post a day two mark of 133 (-11).  Nevada's Jooho Lee (-8, 136) and Sacramento State's Taylor Knoll (-5, 139) round out the top three on the individual leaderboard.  

Santiago Canyon College transfer Nico Mendoza finished his round with a 3-over 75, capping off the afternoon in 21st place to post a total score of 147 (+3). CSF sophomore Kyle De Silva (+5, 149) improved three-strokes from his opening round with a 1-over 73, good for 28th place.  

Fullerton sophomore Matt Murphy (+11, 155) placed 51st on Saturday following a 7-over 79, while Nico Mendoza's second round was officially recorded at zero due to a post round ruling.  

The completion of the final 18-holes of the El Macero Classic will conclude tomorrow at the El Macero Country Club, a par 72, at 7 a.m.
