More Honors for Brown

March 6, 2007

Fullerton, Calif. - Senior point guard Bobby Brown has received another high profile honor and his heir apparent also received an award today.

Brown's latest accolade is inclusion on the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District 9 team. He joins UCLA's Aaron Afflalo and Darren Collison, USC's Nick Young, Arizona's Marcus Williams, Washington State's Derrick Low, Eastern Washington's Rodney Stuckey, Oregon's Aaron Brooks, Santa Clara's Sean Denison and San Diego State's Brandon Heath, a former teammate at Westchester High School.

Sophomore Marcus Crenshaw was selected "Sixth Man of the Year" by the Big West Conference head coaches. The native of Detroit, Michigan, is averaging 11.6 points, 15th best in the conference, even though he has started only three games. Teammate Frank Robinson won the award last year.

Top Big West defensive player honors went to Cal Poly's Titus Shelton while Terrell Jones of Cal State Northridge received the hustle award.

Brown earlier earned his second first-team All-Big West berth and inclusion on the NABC All-District 15 first team. He is one of 13 finalists for the Div. I Bob Cousy Award that goes to the nation's top point guard.
