FULLERTON, Calif. – After starting the 2020 season with four consecutive road games, Cal State Fullerton finally returns to Goodwin Field for its home opener beginning Friday against Tulane with first pitch at 7:00 p.m. PT.

The Titans look forward to its home opening series against a team they have historically dominated, leading the all-time series 12-2. Fullerton and Tulane last played in 2018 in New Orleans where the Titans took two out of three games.

The last time Tulane was at Goodwin Field was in 2004 for a Super Regional. The Titans swept the Green Waves in two games, outscoring them 19-7, on their way to programs fourth National Championship.

Overall, Fullerton is 6-0 in the postseason against Tulane, with three wins coming in a Regional along with a win in the College World Series in 2001.

The Green Wave have had a good start to the season, going 4-0 with a series swept to begin the year against Florida Gulf Coast before a midweek win over Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Titans started the season 2-2, including a road series victory over then No. 17 Stanford. Fullerton dominated the Cardinal, outscoring them 14-4. CSF then had its struggles Tuesday night against San Diego State where they fell by a score of 8-4.

Zach Lew has been on fire to start the 2020 season for the Titans. The sophomore earned his first ever Big West Field Player of the Week award after the Titans earned a series victory on the road against No. 17 Stanford. In the three games against Stanford Lew set the tone early and often as the leadoff hitter. The sophomore went 6-for-13 on the weekend (.462 average) with one RBI and five runs to go along with two walks.

For the week, Lew posted a .533 on-base percentage and .615 slugging percentage. He had his best game of the series on Saturday in the Titans 6-1 win where he recorded a career high four hits, going 4-for-6, including his first career triple, with an RBI and two runs. In four games this season, Lew leads the team with a .438 batting average along with a .550 on-base percantage and a .563 slugging percentage. Incredibly, Lew has drawn a walk on 25 percent of his at-bats. Lew has yet to strikeout in 16 at-bats this season.
