FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball fell in the rubber game to Tulane by a final score of 6-4 in 13 innings Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field.
The Titans put up a good fight but weren't able to come up with a run to put the game away late. Fullerton left 11 men on base throughout the contest.
Zach Lew recorded two hits in the game, extending his hit streak to start the season to seven consecutive games. Lew leads the team with a .367 batting average. Freshman Cameron Repetti had a strong game at the plate for the Titans, going 2-for-3 with one RBI
Josh Urps had another outstanding game, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one walk. Urps has a .304 batting average and is leading the team with four RBI.
Dillon Brown unfortunately recorded the loss for the Titans as pitched 3.1 innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs. Brown also got the Titans out of several jams to keep them alive into extra innings.
Luke Jannetta earned the win for Tulane, moving to 2-0 on the season after pitching 4.3 innings and giving up three hits.
Fullerton returns to Goodwin Field Monday night for an exhibition game against Keio University from Japan. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. PT.
