CAREER SUMMARY
His 16 saves in 2015 tied for the third most by a Titans closer in a single season and the most since Michael Lorenzen shut the door 19 times in 2013…his 17 career saves are the ninth most in Titans history.
AS A SENIOR (2015)
A Big West Conference First Team and Louisville Slugger All-American selection…named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List…finished the season with 16 saves which ranked first in the Big West Conference and second in the nation…his 16 saves tied for the third most by a Titans closer in a single season and the most since Michael Lorenzen shut the door 19 times in 2013…went 16-for-18 in save attempts…had 17 saves overall in his career, which is the ninth most in Titans history…made a team-leading 31 appearances, including one start, pitching a total of 59 and 2/3 innings…had a 5-4 record with a 2.56 ERA and 61 strikeouts to 11 walks while holding opponents to a .252 clip…against Big West Conference competition, in 11 appearances totaled seven saves…totaled 13 and 2/3 innings and struck out 13 with a 1.98 ERA…tossed one and 1/3 shutout innings and recorded the save, striking out two in an 8-6 win over then 12th-ranked Louisville (02/15)…tossed one and 2/3 shutout innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit in a 7-6 victory over Baylor which completed the sweep (02/28)…in a sweep of then fifth-ranked Texas Tech, picked up two saves, tossing a total of 2 and 1/3 innings and striking out five (03/07-03/08)…in his home state of Nebraska, tossed the final two and 2/3 innings while striking out four to record the save in a 4-3 win…tossed five and 2/3 innings and struck out five in a 5-3, 12-inning win at USC (04/28)…in a sweep of Hawai’i was responsible for two saves, pitching a total of three shutout innings (05/16-05/17)…tossed five innings of shutout relief, matching a season high with six strikeouts, in a 3-2, 14-inning win over No. 21 Arizona State in game four of the Fullerton Regional (05/30).
AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Fullerton's lefty specialist for the second consecutive season... Made 23 appearances and had one start... Struck out 15 batters and allowed 19 hits in 15 innings of work... Made his second career start on Apr. 8 vs. UCLA, going one and 2/3 innings in a staff start. The Titans would go on to win 4-3... Had his longest outing of the season on Mar. 23 against Long Beach State, going two and 2/3 innings, striking out two.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Named Big West Conference honorable mention…Fullerton’s lefty specialist, completed the year with a 3-0 record, one save and a 0.57 ERA…tossed 31 and 2/3 innings while striking out 24…held opposing batters to a .196 average…tossed one inning of shutout relief and was credited with the win in a 10-5 victory over Nebraska (02/16)…tossed one and 1/3 innings of shutout relief striking out one to record the save in the series-opening win at TCU (02/22)…picked up the win tossing two shutout innings while striking out two in 9-6 victory at UCLA (04/02)…also tossed 2/3 of an inning and was credited with the win in a 4-2 victory at UC Davis (04/06)…longest outing was three and 2/3 innings of relief, striking out a season-best four at UC Riverside (05/12).
AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
Tyler Peitzmeier was the busiest left-hander on the Titans’ staff with 16 appearances including one start • He worked 19 and 2/3 innings with a 1-0 record and a 2.75 ERA • Struck out 15 and walked seven • His victory came at Arizona State on March 28 in his lone start with season-high 3 and 1/3 innings pitched, four hits, one run in a 9-5 win • Strike out high was three vs. San Diego State on Feb. 28 • Did not surrender a home run.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a three-sport athlete, lettering three times for baseball Head Coach Kurt Finkey and the Chieftains at Yutan High School in Yutan, Neb. • Lettered all four years for the Chieftains’ basketball and football teams, while finishing at the top of his class with a 3.6 GPA • Was a three-time all-state pitcher that never posted an ERA above 1.10 • Recorded 68, 128 and 108 strikeouts his sophomore through senior seasons and finished with ERAs of 1.10, 1.09 and 0.68, respectively.
