Former Titans goalkeeper Morgan Bertsch joined the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer program as an undergrad assistant coach for the 2018 season.

Bertsch was named the 2017 Co-Big West Goalkeeper of the Year and played a pivotal role in the Titans winning the 2017 Big West Tournament title and earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

SENIOR (2017)
Appeared and started in all 22 matches with a 12-6-3 record...totaled 55 saves and nine shutouts...played a whopping 2053 minutes...Bertsch had a phenomenal senior campaign in her first year as starting goalkeeper...she earned accolades as high as Big West Tournament MVP and Big West Co-Goalkeeper of the Year and earned a spot on First Team All-Conference....Bertsch also earned Big West Athlete of the Week twice, (9/25), (10/09). Bertsch recorded back to back shutouts against San Diego (09/22) and Grand Canyon (09/24)...She secured one of the lowest goals against average percentage, .75 which puts her in fourth place in program history. 

JUNIOR (2016)
Appeared in five matches, and made four starts with a 1-2-0 record…totaled 16 saves and two shutouts… recorded her first shutout in the season opener against UAB (9/9)… played a season high 101.49 minutes against UNLV (9/18)…would go on to record another shutout vs Cal Poly (10/2)…went on to play full 90 minutes during the final game of the season and recorded eight saves vs. UC Davis (10/6). 

SOPHOMORE (2015)
Appeared in eight matches and made three starts with a 2-2-1 record…totaled 22 saves and one shutout…played the final 44:14 and made one save while notching the victory in a 4-3 win over FGCU (09/04)…made four saves and recorded a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over UNLV as the Titans opened the year 6-0 for the first time in program history (09/06)…made two stops in a 1-1 tie at Gonzaga playing the full 110 minutes (09/11)...made nine saves at Washington State before allowing the game winner in the 103rd minute in a 2-1 loss to the Cougars (09/13)…played the final 28:08 and took the loss as Fullerton fell 1-0 at Long Beach State during the Big West Conference regular season opener (10/04)…took the goal in the penalty kick shootout at USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (11/13).

FRESHMAN (2014)
Appeared in seven matches making five starts…finished her rookie year with a 1-3-2 record, a 1.20 goals against average and a .708 save percentage…made 17 stops and allowed seven goals…started the first four matches of the year as the Titans finished 0-3-1, losing two matches in overtime…made five saves and recorded her first career win in a 1-0 shutout at CSUN (10/19).

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2014 graduate of Simi Valley High School in Simi Valley, Calif…played three years (2012-14) on the varsity squad for head coach Mike Popp…following her junior year (2013) was named Marmonte League Goalkeeper MVP…also played volleyball and was a scholar-athlete.

PERSONAL
Born in Simi Valley, Calif…parents are Martin Bertsch and Michelle Savage…played for the Simi Valley Eclipse (U8-U-14) and Valley United (U15-U-19) for head coach Hugh Donald in Northridge, Calif., along with fellow teammates Kim Braddock and Lindsay Stasinis…won the League Cup championship in 2013…in both 2012 and 2013, produced an undefeated effort at both the Las Vegas Showcase and the Texas Shootout…in 2012 also won the NHB championship…in addition, finished undefeated at November Nights in 2012…in 2010 won West Coast and SC Blues championships.
