Fullerton Claims Nine Big West All-Conference Honors

FULLERTON, Calif – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team earned nine Big West Conference All-Conference honors on Wednesday with Morgan Bertsch headlining as Co-Goalkeeper of the Year.

Along with earning Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, Bertsch also nabbed Big West All-Conference First-Team.  Joining Bertsch on the First-Team is senior forward Sarah Fajnor and junior defender Nano Oronoz

"I'm very happy for our ladies," said head coach Demian Brown.  "To be recognized by the Big West Conference is an outstanding accomplishment."

Bertsch has collected 51 saves this year and has the lowest goals-against average in the Conference with a value of 0.71.  She owns the best save percentage in program history at 0.71. Bertsch allowed one goal or less in 17 of 19 contests and recorded seven shutouts on the year.

Coming off an excellent 2016 campaign, Fajnor has continued to excel during the 2017 season.  Fajnor has recorded six goals this season and leads in shots with 55.

Oronoz has helped anchor the defense tremendously. Oronoz has played and started in 19 games this season.

Samantha McKenna secured a spot on the Big West All-Freshmen Team.  McKenna has scored three goals in her first year as a Titan.

Senior Samantha Koemans earned Second-Team Honors as a midfielder.  Koemans has had a breakout year netting five goals and garnering five assists.
