Volleyball's Skid Continues, Titans lose, 3-0

Fullerton, Calif. - Natalie Allen's 12-kill, 11-dig double-double led visiting Cal State Northridge (11-10, 5-4) to a three-set sweep of Cal State Fullerton (9-13, 4-6) Friday night at Titan Gym.

Twenty-one kills, three aces, nine digs and a solo block by Kayla Neto was wasted as the Titans drop their third in a row and sixth in their last seven matches. They finish 0-2 against the Mustangs in 2011.

Mahina Haina added 11 kills to Northridge's offensive attack while Casey Hinger and Sydney Gedryn combined for 13 block assists to help the Matadors above the .500 mark in both overall record and the Big West Conference standings.

Neto had 21 of the 37 kills on the night, with Leah Maurer finishing with the second-most kills on the team with seven. Maurer and Ayana Whitaker each had two blocks for Fullerton which was out blocked 12.0 to 6.0.

The Titans never hit .173 in any set and hit just .083 on the night. The Matadors hit .309 in set No. 3 to lift their match average to .236.

The Titans will square off against UC Riverside Saturday night in Titan Gym beginning at 7 p.m.
