FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (8-6, 0-3 Big West) was swept by the red hot Gauchos (15-25, 13-25, 17-25) on Saturday in Titan Gym.
Julia Crawford recorded another double-digit kill performance with 11 to go along with seven digs. Nicole Shuhandler was behind her with six kills while Haley Carmo recorded five. Savahna Costello had another strong defensive night with 21 digs.
UC Santa Barbara entered the night on 10-match win streak and showed why they are the hottest team in the conference taking the first set 25-15.
The second and third sets were more or less the same as the Gauchos outmatched the Titans 25-13 in the second set and then 25-17 in the third. Fullerton sparked a run in the final set going on a 6-0 run to cut into the deficit, but could not keep the momentum on their side.
Cal State Fullerton will be back in action at Hawai'i on October 5 where they will take on the No. 11 ranked Rainbow Wahine.
