FULLERTON, Calif. - After dropping the first set, Cal State Fullerton bounced back to take three straight sets and top UC San Diego, 3-1 (13-25, 25-19, 25-19, 26-24).

Julia Crawford led the way recording a double-double with a game-high 19 kills to go along with 11 digs. Savahna Costello came up with a game-high 24 digs while Elizabeth Schuster posted a team-high 27 assists. Haley Carmo had a very productive match finishing second on the team with eight kills at a 33.3% clip to go along with a game-high five blocks.
Fullerton bounced back from their first set loss to take set number two, 25-19 thanks to a huge improvement in their kill percentage finishing at 25.7% on 35 attempts after just a 16.2% mark in the first set.
They kept it rolling into third set coming out with another 25-19 victory. Crawford led the way with her best set of the game coming through with seven kills on 17 attempts.
The Tritons came into the fourth set and had the advantage for almost the whole set leading by as many as five at 19-14 before Fullerton rallied back. A 10-4 run by the Titans would set up match point and eventually lead to a 26-24 set victory to give the Titans the set and the match.
Cal State Fullerton will kick off their 2019 season Friday, August 30 with a pair of games at the Idaho Volleyball Classic. The first of those games will be against Eastern Washington at 11:30 a.m. PT.
