FULLERTON, CA - The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team won eight of its nine matches on the day to hand visiting Cal State Bakersfield a 6-1 loss at the Titan Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Titans, who had lost eight straight, improved to 2-8 overall on the season five matches into their 12-match homestand. The Roadrunners fell to 0-2 overall in their first full season against Division I competition.
Cal State Fullerton swept all three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead and carried that momentum over into singles play, where the Titans won five of the six matches in straight sets.
Fullerton returns to the courts on Saturday (March 8) as the Titans host the University of Portland beginning at 10 a.m.
