CAL STATE FULLERTON
JUNIOR (2008-09): Finished 5-23 overall in singles play,
including a 4-19 mark in dual matches... posted her best record at
No. 4 singles, finishing 3-8... posted dual match wins over
Chapman's Roxanne Kaiden (6-1, 6-1), Siena's Lauren Moy (6-2, 6-2),
Cal State Bakersfield's Kaydee Graham (7-6, 1-6, 10-6), and Santa
Clara's Kimi Cox (7-5, 6-1)... posted a 6-21 mark in doubles play
with three different partners... finished 5-17 overall with
teammate Brandy Andrews at both the No. 2 (3-11) and No. 3 (0-3)
doubles positions.
SOPHOMORE (2007-08): Split time between the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions... posted a 4-22 overall record in singles play, including a 4-17 mark in dual matches... went 1-7 at the No. 3 spot and 3-10 at the No. 4 position... won back-to-back matches against Cal State Bakersfield and Portland on March 5 and March 8... posted a combined 4-13 record in doubles play with three different partners... competed mainly at the No. 2 position with teammate Erin Weisener, posting a 2-11 record.
FRESHMAN (2006-07): Posted a 4-16 overall record in singles play and a 4-12 mark in dual matches for the Titans at the Nos. 5 and 6 positions... won three of her final five singles matches, including back-to-back wins over Cal State Bakersfield's Leslie Bagley (6-1, 6-2) and UC San Diego's Yekaterina Milvidskaia (6-4, 3-6, 10-6)... split time with three partners in doubles play, but saw the most success with Katrina Domela at the No. 3 spot, posting a 7-10 record... finished a combined 7-13 overall in doubles play.
PERSONAL
Cruz hails from Pasadena, where she attended Pasadena HS and was
the Pacific League Champion in 2004... She also has played
extensively in the SCTA junior ranks and achieved a ranking of 64
in the 18 and under division... Cruz is majoring in kinesiology and
wants to be a physical therapist.
