Mark Spearman joined the Titans in Spring 2021 as the volunteer assistant coach. 

Spring 2021 was the first season for Spearman as a Titans volunteer assistant coach. He worked alongside Head Coach, Dianne Matias to help lead the Titans through another successful year. The Titans made their fourth consecutive Big West semifinals appearance (2020 did not occur due to COVID-19). For the second time in program history, the team was seeded No. 2 in the Big West Championships. The season marked the sixth straight winning season. The Titans finished the season 13-6 (6-2 in Big West play). Spearman also help coach both Misaki Kobayashi and Eira Tobrand who received Big West accolades as a doubles team and individually in singles; Kobayashi awarded with Singles Second Team, Tobrand awarded with Singles Honorable Mention, and both earned Doubles Second Team.

• Started playing tennis at age seven 
• Played Juniors in Chicago until age 12 and was top 3 in the Midwest
• Played Juniors in So Cal 16-18's
• Played all four years at Cal Lutheran and was named an All-American and No.7 in the nation NAIA
• Currently inducted into the Cal Lutheran Hall of Fame
• Played professionally on the ATP tour from 84-88, reached as high as 660 in the world

Coaching Career

• Director at Laguna Niguel Racquet club the past 25 years
• Has coached top ranked juniors and touring pros
• Co-head coach of Dana Hills High School where they won three CIF Championships and a state title

Personal

• Married to his wife Dorene 29 years
• Son Cameron played at the University of Redlands where he was a Div. 3 All-American
• Daughter Katie played varsity tennis for him at Dana Hills High School
• Daughter Cassidy played for the University of Missouri and was named team captain his junior and senior years
• Enjoys being a grandfather
