MALIBU, Calif. – The Titans will have three players competing in one of the most prestigious tournaments in the nation at the collegiate level in the ITA All-American Championships, beginning Saturday with pre-qualifying action starting at 9 am PT with doubles play.

Genevieve Zeidan has been invited to play in the singles pre-qualifying bracket this weekend after being ranked 115th in pre-season ITA national ranking. Zeidan will play her first game as a sophomore against No. 92 Tea Jandric out of Ole Miss. Her match will start at approximately 12:15 pm PT.

Zeidan will have to win three rounds or earn an at-large selection to move on to the qualifying bracket (Oct. 2-3) to get a chance to compete in the main draw (Oct. 4-7).

Alongside Zeidan, the Cal State Fullerton double's team of Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno will also compete in the pre-qualifying. They will play their first game against Florida State's duo Andrea Garcia and Julia Mikulski at 9 am PT.

Zeidan was the first ever Titan to be named Big West Conference Freshman of the Year with an impressive 30-7 record last season. She was awarded a spot on the Big West Conference First Team in single play. She also finished the season ranked 17th in ITA Southwest Regional ranking.

Zeidan is the first ever Titan in program history to be selected to play in the ITA All-American Championships in single play.

Portalatin and Nuno also compiled Big West Conference Awards last season. The two Titans earned a spot on the Big West Conference First Team in both single and double play. Together they held a strong 26-6 record in doubles play.

After Alexis Valenzuela and Camille De Leon in 2016, this is the second time in program history that a CSUF double's team has been selected to play in the ITA All-American tournament.

The tournament regroups the best players across the country. This weekend is the pre-qualifying round at Pepperdine University and players are looking to earn a spot on the qualifying bracket happening October 2-3. The main draw will take place October 4-7 with Riviera Tennis Club holding the qualifying and main draw matches.
