FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team collected its second consecutive victory with a 5-2 decision over Southern Utah on Saturday afternoon at Titan Courts.

With the win, the Titans improve to 3-4 overall, while the Thunderbirds fall to 1-1. The Titans won five of their six single matches, matching a season best.

Junior Morgan McIntosh moved up to the No. 1 spot in the lineup as senior Tiffany Mai was rested. McIntosh defeated Olya Kunz, 6-1, 6-0, to record her first win of the year at the top of the lineup while also improving to 3-3 in 2013.

Sophomore Kalika Slevcove earned her fifth win of 2013 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Alex Ivanova at the No. 3 spot. The native of Newport Beach, Calif., played her first match of the year at No. 3, moving up two spots from her normal position in the order.

Redshirt sophomore Megan Sandford improved to 2-1 in 2013 with a three-set win, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0, over Madeline Skaras at the No. 4 spot of the lineup.

Senior Malorie de la Cruz earned her first win of 2013 after knocking off Kendra Gleason, 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot of the lineup.

Freshman Rebekkah Ermac was victorious in her first dual match of the season with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Afton Staheli at the bottom of the order.

Freshman Emilia Borkowski entered Saturday's match with a 5-1 record, but a move up to No. 2 in the lineup resulted in just her second loss of the year as she was dispatched by Veronika Rogova, 7-6, 7-6.

The Titans los the doubles point, winning at the top of the lineup but dropping the matches at No.2  and No. 3, respectively.
