Position: Volunteer Pitching Coach (3rd Season)

Danielle O'Toole was named the program's volunteer pitching coach in February of 2021.  She enters her third season as the volunteer pitching coach of the Titans for the 2022-23 season. 

Danielle O'Toole's pitching staff for the 2022 season had a 3.49 ERA in 389.2 innings pitched. They pitched 13 complete games and 11 shutouts and strucj out 337 batters. Myka Sutherlin and Raci Miranda combined to go 27-14 in 266 innings. O'Toole called Myka Sutherlin's pitching gem against #8 Arizona where the Titans defeated the Wildcats 1-0 in a shutout at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. She also called the Sutherlin's 3-2 win over the #22 LSU Tigers in the Tempe Regional.

O'Toole, a 2020 Olympian after participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games as a pitcher for the Mexican National Team.  O'Toole made three apperances at the Olympics and pitched 17.0 innings allowing three earned runs, 13 hits and two walks for a 1.23 ERA and 0.88 WHIP, with seven strikeouts.

O'Toole, a native of Upland, currently resides in Southern California and is widely regarded as one of the best pitchers in the world at the moment. Referred to as "Tooly", she is a member of the Mexican National Team and helped lead the team to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. She also played in the Athletes Unlimited League during the 2020 season. She spent two seasons (2018 and 2019) as the pitching coach for the San Diego Toreros softball program. In addition, she also conducts instructional clinics that cover both mental and physical training.

O'Toole was selected to Team USA in January of 2017 and helped lead the team to a silver medal at the International Cup and a gold medal at the World Cup of Softball. 

O'Toole boasts a lengthy resume of softball and academic accomplishments during her collegiate career at Arizona and San Diego State. She earned NFCA All-America first team honors in 2017 and was a three-time NFCA All-West Region selection.

In 2017, she was named an NFCA first-team NFCA All-American, UA's first first-team All-American pitcher since Kenzie Fowler in 2010. In addition, she was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, UA's first to win the award since Alicia Hollowell in 2004. She was selected as one of 10 Finalists for USA Softball Player of the Year. O'Toole was a first-team all-conference and all-region performer as well as a member of the all-defensive team.

She posted a 30-5 record with a Pac-12-best 1.21 ERA and struck out 210 batters in 219.0 innings. She allowed two or fewer runs in 29 of her 34 starts on the season. O'Toole finished top three in the Pac-12 in every major pitching category: 1st with 1.21 ERA (9th in NCAA), 2nd with 210 strikeouts (28th in NCAA), 2nd with .184 opponent batting average, 3rd with 219.0 innings pitched, 2nd with 30 victories (5th in NCAA), 2nd with 35 games started and 1st with nine shutouts (17th in NCAA).

O'Toole also earned Mountain West Pitcher of the Year honors in 2014 and Mountain West Freshman of the Year recognition in 2013 while with San Diego State.

O'Toole excelled in the classroom and was a 2017 Pac-12 All-Academic selection. She graduated in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Care, Health and Society.
