BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team rallied late against Cal State Bakersfield in a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon at the Roadrunners Softball Complex.
The Titans improve to 20-12 overall and 5-1 in Big West play. The Titans are tied for 1st place in the Big West with a 5-1 record with UC San Diego and Hawai'i.
Myka Sutherlin got the start in the circle and pitched seven innings and allowed one hit, one run,and struck out 11 batters. Sutherlin tossed a complete game 7-inning no-hitter in the first game of the series. For the weekend, Sutherlin tossed 14 innings, allowed one run, one hit, and struck out twenty batters. Sutherlin has tossed 4 complete games to start Big West play.

After pounding out nine hits and six runs yesterday against Reina Castillo, the Titans struggled with Castillo's pitching in this game and mustered only five hits. However, the Titans got them when they needed it most.
Bakersfield took the lead in the 3rd inning. They led off the inning with a triple and took the lead on a sac fly to CF. The triple was the only hit that Bakersfield had for the game.
In the sixth inning, the Titans tied the game at 1-1. Megan Delgadillo had a one out bunt single. She stole second for her second stolen bag of the game and came around to score on a RBI single by Kika Ramirez.

In the seventh inning, the Titans took the 2-1 lead over Bakersfield. Peyton Toto led off the inning by being hit by a pitch. She advanced to second on a sac bunt by Jessi Alcala. Alexa Neil singled past the shortstop to score Toto and give the Titans the lead.

After spending their first two Big West series on the road, the Titans head home to Anderson Family Field for their Big West home opening series next weekend against UC Riverside. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Friday, April 1st.
