FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton softball team once again split a double-header on day two of the Easton Invitational.  In their first game of the evening, the Titans were defeated by Cal 7-3.  In the second game, the Titans prevailed 4-2 over Colorado State.  The Titans will finish out the tournament by taking on the University of San Diego on Sunday at 12:30 pm.

GAME 1 - Cal State Fullerton, 3 California, 7

The Titans fell behind early in this game and Cal held onto the lead for the majority of the game.

Cal loaded the bases in the top of the 1st inning and chased Staci Chambers from the first inning but Myka Sutherlin was able to escape a bases loaded jam after allowing one run in on a wild pitch.

The Titans took a lead in the bottom half of the first inning.  Delgadillo walked to start the game, picked up her first stolen bag of the year, and eventually came around to score on a Hannah Becerra RBI single.  Becerra would also come around to score on an RBI single by Peyton Toto

Cal opened a 5-2 lead in the next half inning with a two out rally.  After Sutherlin got the first two outs of the inning, Cal loaded the bases on two singles and a walk before Alexis Bishop unloaded a grand slam over the right field fence.

Both sides traded zeros until Hannah Becerra blasted a home run over the LF wall to bring the Titans within two runs in the fifth inning.

Cal added two more in the sixth inning and held onto the 7-3 win over the Titans.

The Titans pitching was undone by 10 free passes issued in the game.  Myka Suherlin pitched the bulk of the game, going 4.1 innings and allowing four runs off seven hits and five walks.

Game 2 - Cal State Fullerton 4, Colorado State 2

The Titans led for almost the entire game in game two vs Colorado State.

Hannah Becerra had her second home run of the night after hitting an opposite field home run in the bottom of the first inning.

Colorado State tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning after eventually scoring on a bases loaded walk.

However, the Titans responded immediately in the next half of the inning when Jessi Alcala launched a two-run shot over the deep CF wall where the Rams center fielder got a glove on the ball but couldn't reel it in and lost it over the fences.

The Titans added an insurance run in the sixth inning after Deshea Hill hit a two double to right field.  Lauryn DeGuzman came in to pinch run for Hill and Peyton Toto had a base hit up the middle to bring DeGuzman home.

Raci Miranda made her first career start in the circle for the Titans and pitched admirably, going five strong innings and allowing just one run on four hits and four walks and striking out six.  Miranda was able to escape from runners in scoring positions multiple times.  Ellie Zellien pitched a solid two innings of relief to pick up the save and struck out three batters after starting the game in left field.
