FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton will kick off their 2022 season with the Easton Invitational this weekend. The Titans will play five games in three days beginning Friday night with a double-header against Ole Miss (5 PM) and Dixie State (7:30 PM).
The Easton Invitational features a stout field that includes Ole Miss, Cal, Colorado State, the University of San Diego, and Dixie State.. The tournament will feature 15 games in total from Thursday through Sunday. The University of Oregon and Ole Miss will play a one-off game on Thursday night that is not part of the Easton Invitational at Anderson Family Field.
Following Friday's double-header, Fullerton will play a doubleheader on Saturday against Cal and Colorado State, and will close out the weekend with San Diego on Sunday.

The Titans are coming off a year where they fell just one game short of capturing their fifth straight conference title. In last year's conference action, they finished with an 21-3 record and overall, the team finished with a 38-15 record.
Last year, the program had one of their best seasons offensively under the direction of assistant coach Curley Grimes. They had the highest team batting average in school history (.328) that was ranked 9th in the whole country. They had the highest team on-base percentage in school history (.396) that was ranked 19th in the whole country. They had the highest team slugging percentage in school history (.535) that was ranked 17th in the whole country. They hit the second most home reasons in a season (60) and second most RBIs (282). Under the direction of Associate Head Coach Jorge Arajo, they had a fielding percentage of .972 and only committed 40 errors for the 2021 season
This year's squad will bring in an explosive offensive lineup but also a lineup that lost three all-conference letterwinners. Among the returners are Big West Freshman of the Year and All-American Hannah Becerra, All-First Team Daisy Munoz, All-Second Team Megan Delgadillo, Honorable Mention Peyton Toto, former 2019 All-Big West Freshman Player of the Year Alexa Neil, and former two-time All-Big West First Team member Deshea Hill. The pitching staff will be different since only 76 innings are returning. Staci Chambers, Myka Sutherlin (transfer from Pacific), Raci Miranda (freshman), and Ellie Zellien will look to anchor the rotation.
The Titans were picked to win the 2022 Big West title in the preseason coaches poll over Long Beach State.
