    Cal State Fullerton softball Associate Head Coach Dee Dee Kingsbury has accepted the head coaching position at Whittier College, it was announced Tuesday by Special Assistant to the President and Executive Director of Whittier Athletics, Robert Coleman. Kingsbury becomes the ninth coach in Whittier College history to lead the Poet softball program.

    Cal State Fullerton infielder Missy Taukeiaho will compete with the Mexican national team while outfielder Gabby Rodas will play alongside the Philippines national team this week at the General Tire World Cup of Softball IX. Both teams play a six-game schedule Tuesday thru Saturday at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, Calif., hosted by the Southern California ASA.

    Cal State Fullerton sophomore third baseman Missy Taukeiaho was named to the 2014 NFCA Division I All-American Third Team on Wednesday. Taukeiaho becomes the 29th Titan to be named to an NFCA All-American team and the first since Kiki Munoz earned second team honors in 2008.

Fullerton welcomes non-conference opponent Santa Clara for a mid-week single game on Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by hosting Big West foe UC Davis in a three-game series this weekend. The teams will meet in an ESPN3 broadcasted doubleheader on Saturday at 4 and 6 p.m. and will wrap up the series with a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m. on Fullerton's annual senior day.

CSF was led by Christina Washington’s complete game five-hitter to outlast LBSU in game one, 3-1, while dropping game two after blowing a season-high six-run lead led by Leilani Tupua-Tautalatasi’s six RBIs in an 8-6 decision in favor of LBSU. Fullerton clinches the overall series with a 2-1 record.
