FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer is on the road once again this week with a match at UC Irvine on Friday at 7 p.m. PT before returning home to Titan Stadium to play Hawai'i at 5 p.m. PT on Sunday. UC Irvine does not live stream soccer matches, unfortunately. If you can't make it to Sunday's match, which is another Kids Free Sunday, it will be available to watch here.

Head coach Demian Brown and his squad are 10-2-1 overall this year, 4-1-1 on the road and 6-1 at home. Sitting atop the table, we are also 3-0 in Big West play, marking the first time since 2013 that a Titan squad has won its first three league matches. Last week, the Titans picked up two road wins, including a comeback victory at Long Beach State and a 1-0 battle at UC Riverside.

Senior midfielder Atlanta Primus, the Sep. 2 Big West Offensive Player of the Week, has scored or assisted in 11 of our 13 matches this season. She is tied for the most goals on the team with nine. Her streak of six straight matches with a point (either a goal or assist) is tied for the second longest in school history. Primus is tied for third in the nation in total assists on the year at 10 and is tied for fourth in assists in per match at 0.77. She's three goals away from tying the single-season school record for assists in a season. At 21 assists for her career, she has the most assists in school history. She's also tallied 22 goals in her career, equaling 65 points, the fifth-best mark in program history. Primus is also tied for the No. 6 total in school history with those 22 career goals. She is all over the record books as she's tied for sixth in school history in goals per match, (0.34) second in assists per match at (0.31) and fourth in penalty kicks made (three).

Senior forward Maddie Bennett, the Sep. 9 Big West Offensive Player of the Week and Sep. 30 honoree, is tied for the team lead with nine goals including match-winning goals against Houston, Kansas State, UC Davis and Long Beach State. She's tied for 14th in the nation and No. 3 in school history for match winners in a single season. She ranks No. 29 in the country and third in the Big West in points per game at 1.69.

Brown, the Sep. 16 Big West Offensive Player of the Week, has four goals and eight assists on the year to rank her fourth in the Big West in points per game at 1.23 (16 total). Her eight assists are tied for the fourth-best total in a single season in school history.

Freshman defender Megan Day was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14 as she helped the Titans to two road wins. Her and her teammates allowed just one goal total in those two matches and she scored the match-winning goal at UC Riverside.

Sophomore Kaya Hawkinson has four assists as well. Redshirt freshman Noa Schumacher has recorded two shutouts on the year as the goalkeeper for the Titans.

As a team, the Titans essentially lead the Big West in every offensive category. The squad ranks third in the nation and tops in the Big West in corner kicks per match at 7.92. At 2.31 goals per game, the Titans are ranked 25th in the nation and first in the league as well.

UC Irvine is 2-1 in Big West play and 3-10 overall on the year while Hawai'i is 2-0 in the league and 4-6-1 overall.

Brown talked about the squad in-depth in this video here, breaking down the team by position group and talking about the non-conference schedule. Brown has won over 100 matches in his 12 years as head coach. He has steered the Titans to four Big West regular season championships (2007, 2012, 2014, 2015) and five Big West Tournament championships (2007, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) representing the league as the Big West's automatic qualifier at the NCAA Tournament for four of the last six years (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) in addition to the Titans' postseason trip in 2007.

Primus was selected as one of 11 student-athletes to be a Preseason All-Big West honoree. It is her second straight year earning the preseason accolade. As a junior, Primus was 2018 All-Conference First Team selection as she started all 18 games she played in. She scored a team-high six goals and led the team in points scored with 15 as she also dished out three assists.

The Big West Conference also announced that Titans were picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll

Along with a strong crop of newcomers, the Titans also welcome back Alba Barrios and Jessica Simonian from injuries that forced them to miss the entire 2018 season. You can read more about Barrios and her journey here.
