FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer hits the road for the final non-conference match of the season riding a five-match winning streak. CSF faces San Francisco on Friday at 7 p.m. PT  at Negoesco Stadium and the match will be streamed live on TheW.tv

Head coach Demian Brown and his squad are 7-2 overall this year, 2-1 on the road and 5-1 at home. The squad is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings. Last week, the Titans won both matches last week without allowing a goal. Senior midfielder Atlanta Primus scored a goal from a corner kick at LMU to lift the Titans to a 1-0 victory. Junior forward Haley Brown assisted on both goals, including Primus' match winner yet again, in the squad's 2-0 win over Weber State on Sunday.

Senior midfielder Atlanta Primus, the Sep. 2 Big West Offensive Player of the Week, has scored or assisted in eight of our nine matches this season. She is second on the team in goals with five. She scored each of those three goals in consecutive games, tied for the longest scoring streak in program history. Primus is tied with two other student-athletes for first in the nation with total assists on the year at eight. At 19 assists for her career, she is tied for the most assists in school history. She's also tallied 18 goals in her career, equaling 55 points, the sixth-best mark in program history. She is all over the record books as she's tied for ninth in school history in goals per match, (0.30) second in assists per match at (0.32) and fourth in penalty kicks made (three).

Senior forward Maddie Bennett, the Sep. 9 Big West Offensive Player of the Week, leads the team with six goals including match-winning goals against both Houston and Kansas state. She has 13 points on the year (two points per goal, one per assist), good for third in the Big West.

Brown, the Sep. 16 Big West Offensive Player of the Week, has three goals and five assists on the year, has 11 points on the year to rank fourth in the conference.

Sophomore Kaya Hawkinson has four assists as well. Redshirt freshman Noa Schumacher has recorded two shutouts on the year as the goalkeeper for the Titans.

As a team, the Titans are fourth in the nation and tops in the Big West in corner kicks per match at 8.11.

San Francisco boasts a 6-3 overall record this year but two of those losses came against USC and Stanford, both highly ranked programs. Miciah Madison has five goals and three assists on the year to lead the team with 13 points. Samantha Jehnings leads the team in goals with six.

Brown talked about the squad in-depth in this video here, breaking down the team by position group and talking about the non-conference schedule. Brown has won over 100 matches in his 12 years as head coach. He has steered the Titans to four Big West regular season championships (2007, 2012, 2014, 2015) and five Big West Tournament championships (2007, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) representing the league as the Big West's automatic qualifier at the NCAA Tournament for four of the last six years (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017) in addition to the Titans' postseason trip in 2007.

Primus was selected as one of 11 student-athletes to be a Preseason All-Big West honoree. It is her second straight year earning the preseason accolade. As a junior, Primus was 2018 All-Conference First Team selection as she started all 18 games she played in. She scored a team-high six goals and led the team in points scored with 15 as she also dished out three assists.

The Big West Conference also announced that Titans were picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll

Along with a strong crop of newcomers, the Titans also welcome back Alba Barrios and Jessica Simonian from injuries that forced them to miss the entire 2018 season. You can read more about Barrios and her journey here.
