REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2014) Part of the central defensive tandem with Morgan Batcheller, but missed 13 games after suffering an injury in a 1-0 loss to Michigan State (08/24)…returned to action in a 1-0 shutout at CSUN (10/19)…also missed Fullerton’s NCAA Tournament first round game at third-ranked Stanford with an injury (11/14)…in nine matches and eight starts helped the Titans to the 2014 Big West regular season and tournament championships as well as an appearance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament…with Smith-Banas in the lineup, the Titans completed a record of 7-1-1…was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3 following Cal State Fullerton winning the 2014 Big West regular season title with wins over UC Santa Barbara, 4-2, (10/30) and Cal Poly, 1-0, (11/02). She was part of an effort to limit opponents to a combined five shots on goal in both games, and in Fullerton’s 4-2 win at UCSB, collected the game-winning goal, her first of the year, in the 65th minute. In the regular season finale, led the defensive effort in a 1-0 shutout of Cal Poly that clinched the Big West regular season title for the Titans.
PRIOR TO CAL STATE FULLERTON Appeared in 12 games as a freshman at TCU in 2012, making eight starts...made her collegiate debut on Sept. 9 against Texas State...scored game-tying goal with 13 seconds left in regulation against Kansas (Sept. 30), forcing overtime...started the final eight games of the season...first career start came at Oklahoma State (Oct. 12)...assisted on Monica Alvarado's last-minute goal against Texas Tech (Oct. 19) helping the Frogs earn a tie...took a total of five shots on goal for the season.
HIGH SCHOOL Named Rookie of the Year as a sophomore at Saugus High School…earned Defensive MVP accolades as a junior...named first-team all-league by the Signal Newspaper and the Los Angeles Daily News as a senior...played club soccer for Real So Cal and helped her team win the Manchester United Premier Cup and the Gothia Cup in 2009.
