Edberg Wins Fourth Career Event Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Junior Martina Edberg recorded her fourth career victory Sunday at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate hosted by Wyoming Sunday at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.

Edberg recorded a 5-under 67 on Sunday after going into the final day at even par and one stroke back of the lead. Edberg finished the tournament with a 5-unver 211, a new 54-hole career best. She finished six strokes ahead of Hannah Facchini of UC Riverside.

Edberg has now won at least one event in all three of her years at Cal State Fullerton. She holds the all-time Titans record in wins with four and has now shot four rounds in the 60s this year after recording three rounds in the 60s combined in her first two seasons with the Titans.

As for the Titans, the team finished the third round with a 56-over 920 after posting a tournament-best 901 on Sunday. The Titans finished tied for seventh with hosts Wyoming and were 26 strokes back of co-champions UC Riverside and San Jose State.

Brittany Farrell posted a 3-over 75 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 14-over 230, tied for 21st place.

Pauline Welker finished in a tie for 33rd place for the Titans after posting a 16-over 232. She recorded a 5-over 77 in the final round on Sunday.

Nadine Rivera and Dakota Brown rounded out the Titans scoring as they posted a 248 and 250 respectively for the tournament.

The Titans will take one week off before returning to the links for the final tournament of the fall season on Oct. 12 at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational at the Tacoma Golf and Country Club in Lakewood, Wash.
