Titans Fourth After Day One in the Palouse

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Cal State Fullerton sophomore Se Ri Lee shot a 1-over-par 145 to finish in a tie for fifth and help the Titans to fourth place after day one of the 2012 Cougar Cup hosted by Washington State at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course in Pullman, Wash.

Lee, who finished with a 1-under-par 71 after the first of two rounds on Monday, is tied with three other players for fifth, just one shot off the lead shared by Gonzaga's Victoria Fallgren and Raychelle Santos, Washington State's Kristen Rue, and California's Jaqueline Williams.

Sophomore Makayla Mier, a transfer who played her freshman season at Florida International, also finished day one in the top 20 in her Titan debut, finishing with a 4-over-par 148 to tie for 14th with Tuesday's final round looming.

Senior Taylor Fowler finished day one in a tie for 24th (7-over-par 151), sophomore Tisha Alyn Abrea stands in a tie for 36th (10-over-par 154), and senior Deidre Crabtree is in a tie for 40th (11-over-par 155) with 18 holes to play.

California leads the way in the team standings at 5-over-par (581) after 36 holes, four shots ahead of the host Cougars, who finished with a 9-over, 585. Gonzaga is third at 14-over-par (590), just six shots ahead of the Titans, who shot identical team scores of 298 over the two rounds to close out the day.
