The No. 28-ranked UC Irvine men's soccer team (11-3-3, 5-2-1) defeated Cal State Fullerton (5-10-1, 1-6-0), 3-1, Wednesday night in Big West Conference play at Anteater Stadium.

The Anteaters got on the board at the 9:01 mark as freshman Kevin Santora crossed the ball to senior Craig Ettinger on the right side with Ettinger knocking the ball into the net for a 1-0 UCI lead. The Titans tied the match in the 25th minute as Michael Farfan found Eugene Brooks on a breakaway down the middle and Brooks found the left side of the net to tie the match 1-1.

Senior Brad Evans took a free kick from the right side 30 yards out and knocked the ball off the left post and straight down over the goal line to put UCI back up 2-1 in the 32nd minute. Sophomore J.T. Terrazas dribbled the ball in the box and passed the ball along the end line to senior Anthony Hamilton and Hamilton knocked the ball over the line for a 3-1 Anteater lead in the 59th minute.

Senior Keeper Kenny Schoeni had three saves for the `Eaters. Keeper Brent Douglas had three saves for the Titans.

Brad Evans' goal is the 30th of his career tying him for the Anteater career record with UC Irvine Hall of Famer P.J Polowski. It is also his 10th career game-winning goal adding to his UCI record total. Anthony Hamilton moves into sole possession of fourth on the UCI goal list with 23 in his career.

Brooks' goal was his ninth of the year to tie him for the Big West lead with UCI's Matt Murphy.

The Anteaters return to action Saturday (Oct. 28) as they host UC Davis at 7:00 p.m. in non-conference action at Anteater Stadium. Fullerton travels to Cal State Northridge for a 2 p.m. match.
