Lambe Lifts Titans to Victory Over UC Irvine

FULLERTON, Calif. – After heading into the locker room trailing at halftime, Cal State Fullerton men's soccer came out with a resurgence in the second half to score two goals and earn a 2-1 victory over UC Irvine Wednesday night at Titan Stadium.

The Titans are 10-5-1 on the season with a 2-3 record in Big West Conference play. Fullerton now sits in fifth place in the conference with six points. 

UC Irvine took the lead in the 21st minute on goal by Roberto Molina, assisted by Victor Falck. 

Oscar Flores tied the game up at 1-1 in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick after a UC Irvine handball inside the 18-yard box. Flores now has a team-high six goals this season. 

With the game tied and the clock winding down, freshman Owen Lambe scored his first collegiate goal which ended up being the game-winning goal in the 77th minute of action. The Titans have been outstanding at home all season and with the win are now 8-1-1 at Titan Stadium. 

Fullerton looks to keep its impeccable record at home going as they host UC Davis Saturday night at Titan Stadium with kickoff schedule for 7:00 p.m. PT.
