Fullerton Falls to Defending National Champions Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer fell 2-0 to defending national champions, Maryland by a score of 2-0 Saturday night at Ludwig Field. 

Fullerton gave up two goals in the first half on a penalty kick and off of a set piece as Maryland scored in the 21st minute and 24th minute. The Titans played much better as the game went on, showing they can compete with a top program in the country. 

The offense produced great chances throughout the game but were just unable to find the back of the net as they recorded 15 shots with five of them being shots on goal. Christian Pinzon recorded eight of the 15 shots with three of them being on goal, including a shot that went off the post in the first half. 

The Titans wrap up nonconference play with a Big West Conference-best 8-2-1 record. Fullerton begins conference play Wednesday night on the road against CSUN.
