Titans 7th After Day 1

Mission Viejo, Calif. - Dakota Duerr shot a par 72 to complete a first-day score of 149 Monday in leading Cal State Fullerton to a seventh-place standing after the first day of the 2011 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championships at Mission Viejo Country Club.

UC Davis holds an 8-stroke lead over runnerup Pacific with an even par 576 after a pair of identical rounds of even par 288. Fullerton's score is 615 or 39 over par.

Teammates trailing Duerr are Scott Rubzin at 153 (77-76), Mark Anguiano at 155 (80-75), Corey Gard at 158 (80-78) and Nick Ellis at 161 (82-79). The individual leader is Austin Graham of UC Davis at 4-under 140.

The final 18 holes will be played Tujesday.
