FULLERTON, Calif. – The winter hiatus is over, and the Titans men's golf team will be wiping down their clubs and returning to the links.  The first tournament on the 2020 spring schedule is the Orange County Collegiate Classic, which is being co-hosted by Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine.

The 54-hole tournament will take place on Monday and Tuesday, February 10-11 at the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club in Coto de Caza, Calif.  Play will take place on the par 72, 6,986 yard South Course.  Two consecutive 18-hole rounds will be played on Monday, with the final 18 holes played on Tuesday.  Teams and individuals will compete for championships.

The Coto de Caza South Course is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design, and is noted for its tight fairways and challenging doglegs.

Participating schools will include hosts Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine, Butler, British Columbia, Cal Baptist, Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, Central Arkansas, Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount, Northern Alabama, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, San Francisco, UC Riverside, UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara.

Said head coach Jason Drotter:  "I am really excited about co-hosting the first annual OC Collegiate Classic.  Coto de Caza is an incredible course that I'm quite sure will provide all the athletes competing with a great experience.  My hope is that we will be able to continue our relationship with the course, and we'll continue to host for many years to come."

Making the short trek to the south county will be Jack Dyer, Derek Castillo, Garrett Boe, Trevor McNary and Matt Rafter.  Castillo and Dyer each had three top-10 finishes in their four fall tournaments.  Dyer was a tri-medalist at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
