SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team completed the first two rounds of play at the Bill Cullum Invitational with a total score of 568 (-8) on Monday afternoon at Wood Ranch Golf Club.
Fullerton finds itself in third place, although the standings are not complete as four of the 20 teams competing did not complete their final round as play was suspended due to darkness.
The Titans are 11 shots off the place of first-place San Diego (557) while also trailing Arizona State (563), and leading fellow Big West Conference teams UC Irvine (580), UC Santa Barbara (580), Cal Poly (unfinished), Cal State Northridge (583), Long Beach State (585) and Hawai'i (590).
In the first round of the day, the Titans finished even par with a score of 288 as Mark Anguiano and Corey Gard, each completed the first round shooting one-under-par (71). Kyle De Silva followed with an even-par-score in the first round followed by Ryan Tetrault (-2; 74) and Josh Park (-2; 74).
After a second-round effort of five-under-par (67), Anguiano enters the final round tomorrow just one shot back of the leader, Jon Rahm (-7; 137) of Arizona State.
Gard enters the third round with a score 140 (-4), tying for sixth in the 108-player field.
De Silva and Gard each finished the day at one-over-par (145), respectively, and their scores are tied for 31st.
Park finished the day tied for 40th with a score of 147 (+2) after two rounds.
The groups with one hole remaining in the second round will start at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. The shotgun start for the final round is scheduled for 8 a.m.
