FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished second at the Sacramento State Invitational presented by The Old Spaghetti Factory in Sacramento, Calif. on Tuesday.
The Titans shot 861 (-3) over two days of play, including a score of 287 on Tuesday afternoon. The Titans entered the day tied for second place with Chico State after shooting a 288 first round and 286 second round on Monday. The Titans started off the day six-under par, but eventually slipped from atop the leaderboard.
Currently ranked 97th in the nation by Golfweek, UC Santa Barbara won the tournament after a six-under par final round, finishing with a score of 854 (-10). Finishing in third was Chico State (865, +1), while Boise State (869, +5), and Southern Utah (869, +5) finished tied for fourth place to round out the top five teams. Cal State Fullerton was the highest ranked team entering the tournament with an overall ranking of 90th according to Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
With a total score of 208 at 8-under par, UC Santa Barbara's Glen Scher finished at the top of the individual standings, one spot above USC Upstate's Adam Goins (209, -7). Scher started the day atop the leaderboard and controlled the top spot after shooting one-under par (71) on Tuesday.
Sophomore Ryan Tetrault was the highest finishing Titan, after shooting a 71 on Tuesday and finishing four-under par overall. Tetrault shot all three rounds under par in the tournament (70, 71, 71). Junior Mark Anguiano finished in 10th place after posting a third round 72 (E) for an overall score of 215.

After entering the day four-over par, junior Corey Gard shot a final round 70 (-2) to finish tied for 17th place. Gard contributed five birdies on Tuesday, while posting one bogey and a double-bogey. Senior Dakota Duerr shot a final round 74 to finish with an overall score of 220.
Michael Choe shot a 78 on Tuesday and ended the tournament with a score of 223 (+5) tied for 37th place in the standings. Josh Park, who competed as an individual, finished the tournament with a score of 220. Park shot a 70 on Tuesday to move him from 45th place after two rounds to 26th place overall.
The Titans are on a bye this weekend before competing in the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine at the El Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel, Calif. on March 25-26.
