Jensma, Duerr Pace Titans to Fourth After Folino First Round

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. -- Redshirt freshman Mark Jensma and senior Dakota Duerr each finished with a 1-under-par 71 to finish two shots off the lead and help pace host Cal State Fullerton to a fourth-place finish after round one of the 2013 Folino Invitational Presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California on Sunday at the Industry Hills Golf Club.

Jensma, competing as an individual, finished with a first-round best six birdies -- including one-under on three of the four par fives -- while Duerr played steady golf, posting two birdies on the day to join his teammate. Junior Mark Anguiano was also in the top 10, finishing tied for seventh with an even-par 72.

Long Beach State's Raymond Ho and Sacramento State's Ryan Williams shared the first-round lead, shooting identical 3-under-par 69's on the day -- missing the tournament's single-round record by a single stroke. UC Irvine is the team leader after day one, finishing at 2-over-par collectively to edge the 49ers by four strokes and the Hornets by seven after the first 18. The Titans are eight shots back in the team standings at 10-over-par.

Fullerton senior Darren Saqui and junior Josh Park, competing as individuals, each finished in a tie for 21st with a first-round 76 (+4) and was followed closely by freshman Michael Choe at 5-over-par (77). Sophomore Ryan Tetrault and junior Corey Gard finished tied for 34th at 6-over-par 78.
