Brown, Cutley Make All-BWC First Team

March 5, 2007

Irvine, Calif. - Senior point guard Bobby Brown and junior forward Scott Cutley of Cal State Fullerton today were named to the All-Big West Conference men's basketball first team. It's the first time the Titans have had two first-team selections since 1984-85 when Kevin Henderson and Tony Neal were so honored.

Joining the Titan duo on the 6-man squad are Long Beach State's Kejuan Johnson and Aaron Nixon, UC Santa Barbara's Alex Harris and Cal Poly's Derek Stockalper. Brown and Stockalper are repeat first-team selections.

The conference champion 49ers garnered player of the year and coach of the year honors to Nixon and Coach Larry Reynolds.

Fullerton junior wingman Frank Robinson earned honorable mention status.

Brown becomes only the fifth Titan to earn multiple first-team berths, joining Greg Bunch (1976-77-78), Calvin Roberts (1979-80), Leon Wood (1982-83-84) and Cedric Ceballos (1989-90). Brown also was tabbed freshman of the year in 2004.

Brown is among the conference leaders in virtually every offensive category except rebounding and blocked shots. Cutley is the top rebounder and has been in the top five in scoring and field-goal percentage all season.

Brown last week was the only Big West player selected to the 15 NBCA all-distric first teams. Harris made the second team for District 15.
