Position: Assistant Coach (3rd Season)

After playing five years at Cal State Fullerton, Jake Pavletich returned in August of 2021 as the director of player development. 

“Jake “Pav” Pavletich is a name that Titans Nation will remember. He embodies what it means to be a Titan and we are excited that Jake will lead our Director of Player Development role,” Dietrich said. “He will help oversee the day to day operations, help our coaches learn and improve in the analytical world. He will also help to continue garnishing quality relationships with local high schools, junior colleges and all travel ball coaches. We are going to count on “Pav” to be a man of many hats who will help our program at a high level. Let’s welcome Jake back to Titanland.” 

In his second season back at Fullerton, the Titans ended their four-year postseason drought. The team finished the seasons with a 32-24 record and 20-10 record in the Big West. The Titans finished second in the conference and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Stanford Regional where they went 1-2. The team surpassed 30 wins for the first time since 2018 and its 20 conference wins was the most since 2013. 

Pavletich coached at Concordia University Irvine as a graduate assistant in 2020 and 2021 where assisted with the position players offensively and worked with the infielders on defense. He received his master's degree in the MCAA program at Concordia. 

Pavletich played five years at Cal State Fullerton where he earned his bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. During his time with the Titans, Pavletich was a part of two College World Series teams, four NCAA Regionals appearances, and Three Super Regional appearances as a player. 

In 2018, Pavletich was named Big West Male Scholar Athlete of the Year representing Cal State Fullerton. In 2016, Pavletich hit an impressive .390 and was an All-Regional 3rd basemen in the Mississippi State Regional.  

Before college, Pavletich attended Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield, Calif. where he was a two-sport athlete. In addition to playing high school baseball, he was also a quarterback on the football team.
