FULLERTON, Calif. – With a runner on first and the Titans up just one run in the ninth inning, Evan Adolphus came into the game and shut San Francisco's offense down to secure a 5-4 win for Fullerton Saturday night at Goodwin Field.
Kyle Luckham led the way on the mound as the Titans largely won with pitching and defense. Luckham picked up his second win of the season to move to 2-0 after pitching 6.2 innings and giving up just two runs while striking out seven. Adolphus earned his second save of the season after getting two easy outs in the ninth.
The Titans got on the board early as Isaiah Garcia recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly to score Brett Borgogno. Borgogno had a solid game at the plate after not getting in the lineup for a couple games, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
With the game tied in the fourth inning, Jackson Lyon came up with a big RBI single to score Miguel Ortiz and give the Titans the lead back. Guangorena also recorded a RBI in the game on a sacrifice fly in the third inning. The other two runs by the Titans were scored on wild pitches in the sixth.
Fullerton returns to Goodwin Field Sunday afternoon for the third and final game of the series against San Francisco. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PT.
