Baseball Heads to the Islands for a Three-Game Series Against Hawai'i

FULLERTON, Calif. – Following a nonconference series against San Diego State, Cal State Fullerton returns to Big West Play as the team heads to the islands for a three-game series against Hawai'i beginning Thursday night.

The Titans head into the matchup against Hawai'i with an overall record of 15-17 along with a 3-3 record in conference play to leave them in fourth place in the Big West Standings.

Through 32 games, Fullerton has shown that it can fair on the road, with a record of 10-7 this year away from Goodwin Field. The Titans lead the all-time series against Hawai'i with a 21-9 record with a 12-5 record at Les Murakami Stadium. Fullerton has not lost a series on the road against Hawai'i since 1982.

Mitchell Berryhill heads into this weekends contest boasting a 41 game on-base streak dating back to the 2018. The senior has opened eyes this season with his .447 batting average which ranks first in the Big West and fourth in the entire country. Berryhill has stepped up is game even more in six games of conference play as he is hitting .591 with five RBI and seven runs to go along with a .679 on-base percentage

Sophomore Brett Borgogno has also improved his game in Big West Play. Borgogno is hitting .464 with eight RBI and seven runs in six conference games. In the Titans last conference game against Cal Poly Borgogno no recorded his first career home run and recorded two in the same game in Fullerton's 16-6 win over the Mustangs.

The Titans probable Thursday night starter is Tanner Bibee who has started game one of every weekend series this season. Bibee has 3.68 ERA and a 4-5 record in nine starts this season. After having success out of the bullpen, Timothy Josten appears to be Fullerton's Friday night starter.

Right-handed pitcher Michael Knorr is Saturday's probable starter for the Titans. Knorr is 3-2 this season in nine starts and has helped lead the Titans to a 7-2 record in his nine starts. The freshman has been the team's typical Sunday starter where the Titans are 8-1 this season.
