Game Notes

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (8-9) heads south for mid-week matchup with the University of San Diego (14-6) at Fowler Park with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT.

The Titans are coming off of a weekend series against James Madison at Goodwin Field, going 1-2 in the three games. Fullerton dropped the first two games of the series but battled back on Sunday to defeat the Dukes 12-3.

Hank LoForte continued his historic streak this weekend, reaching base safely in all three games to extend his on-base streak to 62 consecutive games dating back to March 11 of the 2018 season. LoForte's streak leads the nation for the longest active streak.

Fullerton's pitching was on point all weekend against James Madison, allowing just six runs in three games while only four of them were earned runs. Tanner Bibee started off the weekend pitching eight innings, allowing just one run which was unearned while striking out eight batters.

Kyle Luckham started his second game of the season and put the Titans in a position to win with his performance on the mound. Luckham went six innings, giving up just three hits and two runs with only one earned. Timothy Josten pitched the final three innings of Saturday's contest and gave up just two hits while striking out three James Madison batters.

Freshman Michael Knorr had his best start of the season in the Titans 12-3 victory as he pitched seven scoreless innings while giving up just two hits and striking out three batters. Knorr picked up his first win of the season and is now 1-1 on the year.

San Diego native Joe Magrisi looks to get the start for the Titans on Tuesday for his first start of the season. The freshman has pitched four innings in two appearances this season and has given up just four hits while striking out seven batters.
