Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Minnesota
Twins.
AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Played in 57 games and made 53 starts... Batted .250 with seven
doubles, two triples and 18 RBI... Was fourth on the team with 29
runs scored... Had six stolen bases in eight attempts... In
conference, batted .270 with 20 hits and 10 runs scored... Set
career highs as he collected four hits with three RBI and scored a
team season-high four runs on Mar. 7 in a 11-0 victory over
Baylor... Had a .311 batting average against left-handers... Led
the team with a .571 batting average (4-for-7) with the bases
loaded... Had a .403 batting average (25-for-62) as a leadoff
hitter.
SUMMER 2013
Batted .279 in 42 games for the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the
Northwoods League…totaled 27 runs scored, 38 hits, seven
doubles, three triples, five home runs, 26 RBIs and 12 stolen
bases…also was selected to play in the Big League Dreams
game.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Named to the Big West Conference second team…off
the field was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District
VIII Team and to the Big West Conference All-Academic
Team…appeared in 53 games, starting 38 (26 left field, 12
right field)… normally hit ninth in the order…batted
.311 on the season with 21 runs scored, 38 hits, five doubles, two
triples, 12 RBIs and eight stolen bases…in Big West games,
hit .351 while driving in eight runs…batted .306 (11-for-36)
with runners in scoring position…batted 2-for-2 with two
runs scored in an 8-2 win at CSU Bakersfield (02/17)…hit
2-for-4 with two RBIs and one runs scored in series-opening 6-0 win
at Long Beach State (03/22)…batted 3-for-4 with a RBI and
run scored in a series-clinching 10-2 win vs. UC Santa Barbara
(04/13)…batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two doubles and a run
scored in series-sweeping 9-6 win at Cal State Northridge
(05/25).
SUMMER 2012
Played for the Cowlitz Black Bears (26-28), who advanced
to the West Coast League playoffs for the first time in franchise
history…in 41 games, batted .279 with 25 runs scored, eight
doubles, two triples, one home run, 10 RBIs, and 11 stolen
bases.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
Served the Titans primarily as a late-inning defensive
replacement and pinch runner as a true freshman • Appeared in
34 games, four as a starter • Got 27 at bats and compiled a
.370 average, second best on the team, with four RBIs and 10 runs
• Batted team-best .571 in Big West Conference games
(8-for-14) • Missed about three weeks (between Apr. 17 and May
5) due to a rib injury • Managed a four-game hitting streak
(Apr. 6-15, 5-for-8, .625) which accounted for half of his season
hit total • Also scored 10 runs • Scored all the way from
second base on a wild pitch and fielding error by the pitcher on
May 13 at UC Santa Barbara.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a three-year letterwinner for Head Coach Roc Murray
and the Thunder at Rocklin High School in Rocklin, Calif. •
Was inducted into the Rocklin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011 after
completing his playing career that also included outstanding
academic achievement (Scholar-Athlete, a California Scholarship
Federation member from 2008-11, 2010 Honor Guard, and four years of
straight “A”s) • Was a first-team All-Sierra
Foothill League selection in 2010 after hitting .374 with a home
run, 10 doubles, four triples and 38 runs scored • Did even
better as a senior in 2011 batting .415 with 20 RBIs, six triples
and 26 stolen bases and was named the SFL’s most valuable
player • Was a two-time All-Sac Metro honoree, a two-time RHS
offensive player of the year, and was an all-state second teamer as
a senior • Set career and season records for Rocklin High
School in triples (10 in his career and six in 2011) and also set a
single-season school record in stolen bases (26 in 2011) • Was
drafted in the 26th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Players Draft
by the Cleveland Indians.
